Leaf by leaf. A reader for your Kavita library.
Patra is a mobile app for Kavita, the self-hosted server for manga, comics and books. Your library stays on your server; Patra is what you carry to it.
What it does
-
Several servers, several readers
Switch between your servers in one tap, and give everyone in the house their own profile — their own reading and progress, lockable so the others stay out.
-
Home
Continue reading, On deck, and your libraries on one shelf.
-
Libraries and series
Browse a library as covers, and a series as the volumes, chapters and specials it is made of.
-
The reader
Left to right, right to left, or scrolling down — whichever way the work is meant to be read.
-
Books
Read a book with the contents, the text size and the line spacing you like.
-
Offline
Save what you want to read to the device and read it with no server reachable. Your progress catches up when you are back.
Free and open source
Patra is free software, released under the Apache License 2.0, and the whole app is in the repository — every screen, the reader, the downloads. Contributions are welcome: a bug report, a translation, a fix.
If you would like to support it, you can sponsor the project on GitHub. It is one person's work, and a sponsorship goes to the time it takes.
Getting it
Patra is in testing. Android builds go to Google Play's internal testing and iOS builds to TestFlight, both by invitation. It can also be built from source — the README explains how.
You will need a Kavita server to connect to: one you run yourself, or one somebody shares with you.
Nothing you read, save or look at is sent to anyone but that server. What the app keeps and what it sends is set out in the privacy policy.
